Maryland accountant facing new theft charges

An accountant from Chrisfield is facing new charges; he was taken into custody previously on allegations of forgery and theft. In the morning of Dec. 13, Maryland State Police took the accountant into custody and charged him with two counts of theft. He was held on a $25,000 bond.

Woman to spend 5 years in prison for attempted hair weave robbery

A 19-year-old Maryland woman was sentenced to five years in prison after becoming involved in an altercation after attempting to steal hair weaves. According to the report, the woman attempted to steal approximately $850 in hair weaves from Gaithersburg's Town Beauty Supply in September 2012.

Maryland man accused of stealing computer

Police took into custody a 59-year-old Belcamp man who is accused of stealing a computer from a Towson University student. The theft occurred at an Aberdeen library where police say that the man followed the student prior to luring him away from the computer. Police officials say that they retrieved video surveillance tapes from the library and were able to see what occurred. They then printed photos of the accused man for distribution.

Charges filed in Maryland bike shop robbery

Police say they found five of the seven dirt bikes that were allegedly stolen from a Maryland business. Officers uncovered the theft from a motorcycle shop shortly after the robbery happened when they noticed two people pushing an off-road motorcycle. Authorities took four males into custody on various charges of robbery and theft. The defendants include two men ages 18 and 19 respectively and two juveniles.

Two in custody for alleged Maryland theft and burglary

Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office responded, on Oct. 23, to a report of burglary and theft of more than $9,000 worth of weapons. When officers arrived, they learned that unknown individuals had entered the address and gained access to a gun safe. The individuals had allegedly removed $1,650 in cash and 19 different firearms.

Maryland woman accused of bank robbery

A woman in Maryland was identified as a bank robber in part because she has eczema on her hands, police say. Police allege that a 47-year-old Maryland woman committed a robbery at The Bank of Glen Burnie on Crain Highway South and returned to rob the same branch two weeks later.

Maryland Belk employee taken into custody after alleged theft

A Belk Department Store in Maryland called police after one of the store's employees allegedly stole from the retailer. Authorities consulted with Belk's Loss Prevention team and saw video of the 19-year-old man apparently committing a theft. The video reportedly showed the worker stuffing merchandise into his pants pockets before he went into the employee locker room to retrieve his backpack. Out of view of the camera for a few moments, the employee then reportedly returned his backpack in his locker.

Maryland man detained following alleged Office Depot theft

On Sept. 3, a 51-year-old security guard was allegedly robbed after trying to recover stolen merchandise for an Office Depot store. The security guard had been following a man who he believed robbed the store. The security guard apparently confronted the individual and tried to make an emergency 911 call, but the accused man allegedly knocked him down and took his cell phone.

Maryland man accused of stealing car, driving without license

A routine traffic stop resulted in a Maryland man being taken into police custody on Sept. 8 in the Pasadena area, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The man was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.
