Maryland brothers reach plea agreement on drug charges

A 37-year-old Annapolis man and his 40-year-old brother have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base. The charges stemmed from alleged activity between July 2012 through June 2013. Prosecutors allege that the two worked with a third brother and other individuals to distribute cocaine base in Anne Arundel County and the Baltimore area.

According to court documents, the two brothers allegedly sold the cocaine base out of an drug shop that they operated off of President Street. They said the brothers were often seen conducting their drug business in the proximity of the drug shop.

During a subsequent police investigation, in both November 2012 and in February 2013, officers reportedly had an individual purchase the cocaine base from the two brothers, with a third purchase made again in January 2013. An arrest was made on July 31, 2012 after Baltimore City Police officers pulled over the younger brother for a traffic violation and discovered $4,050 and a hollowed-out cigar containing raw marijuana during a search, along with 140 grams of cocaine base and more raw marijuana located in a hidden compartment of the vehicle.

As part of their plea agreement, the younger brother will serve 198 months in prison, while his older brother will serve 125 months. Both brothers will then have five years of supervised release after they have served their time. In addition, the $4050 seized during the younger brother's arrest along with a 1999 Dodge Caravan and a 2004 Land Rover truck were ordered forfeited by the judge.
