A 26-year-old man accused of burglary was seen fleeing a Montgomery County veterinary hospital on foot and running into a wooded area behind a popular steakhouse chain restaurant. Police located the man in the wooded area and arrested him. The man was later charged with two counts of second degree burglary and theft less than $1,000. The charges stemmed from two separate burglary accounts at the same veterinary hospital.
Police arrested the man on the day of the second burglary-related incident at the animal hospital. The first burglary incident occurred just two days prior to the date on which the man was arrested. In the first incident, police responded to a burglar alarm that was set off at the veterinary hospital during the predawn hours.
The man is also suspected to have been involved in other burglaries that have taken place at commercial properties in Montgomery County. Two of the other alleged burglaries also took place in the same town as the veterinary clinic. The man is being held at the Montgomery Detention center. Bond has not been set.
Being accused of one crime can be overwhelming enough. People who find themselves arrested and possibly facing charges for multiple crimes may feel confused as to what their next steps should be. A criminal defense attorney can represent people who are awaiting trial and help them understand the charges that are brought against them in addition to preparing possible legal defenses. Defendants who are suspected of other crimes can especially benefit from having the help of a lawyer. A criminal defense lawyer may be able to help the accused party know his or her rights and effectively navigate the criminal court system.
