33-year-old man arrested for selling marijuana

A 33-year-old man from Anne Arundel County was taken into custody on March 21 for the third time within 90 days. He faces four counts of drug charges, including a charge for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, after law enforcement personnel searched his home. They allegedly found more than 35 grams of marijuana, valued at more than $700, and 1.4 grams of heroin, worth about $170. According to the authorities, he was held with no bond at a detention facility.

Police initiated the search after area complaints of possible drug traffic at the residence. In addition to the drugs, officers also reportedly found more than $500 in cash.

He was initially arrested when law enforcement personnel found oxycodone pills valued at more than $420 and a 9mm handgun with ammunition during a traffic stop on Jan. 23. He was arrested the second time when law enforcement searched his home on Feb. 16 and located drugs worth more than $7,000, additional cash and a loaded weapon.

The accused man faces multiple drug and weapons charges because of three separate arrests. A criminal defense attorney who has a background of helping clients arrested for drug charges might be able to negotiate a plea agreement as well as evaluate whether or not proper search and seizure protocols were adhered to during each of the three searches as improperly obtained evidence may considerably weaken the prosecution's case. In some cases, the prosecution and the judge will consider substance abuse counseling for someone who needs help addressing his or her drug abuse issues.
