Mia Farrow’s brother faces child sex crime allegations

| Dec 7, 2012 | Sex Crimes |

According to officials, Mia Farrow’s brother was arrested in Maryland on allegations of child sex abuse. Two men claim that Villers-Farrow abused them over the course of eight years (when they were between 9 and 16 years old).

Villers-Farrow now faces charges for child abuse, perverted practice, sex abuse of a minor, sex offense and assault. If convicted, he could face years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines. More importantly, he may need to register as a sex offender for life and face a life-long stigma.

Child sex crimes

There are a wide number of crimes that fall under the “child sex crimes” umbrella, including:

  • Internet stalking
  • Child pornography charges, including online distribution or production of child porn
  • Solicitation of a minor over the internet
  • Child abuse
  • Child molestation
  • Sex abuse of a minor
  • Assault

It doesn’t matter if sex was consensual, if you thought the child was over 18 or if you didn’t know the pictures you viewed were considered child pornography, you can still be charged for a child sex crime. The government aggressively prosecutes child sex crimes and judges are known to sentence child sex crime defendants to the fullest extent of the law. Like Villers-Farrow, a conviction could jeopardize your future, freedom, employment, reputation and family life.

That is why it is important to fight your charges with the help of an experienced child sex crimes defense attorney. There are defenses available for child sex crimes and ways to mitigate the penalties.
