A Maryland man has been taken into police custody after a three-month investigation was conducted by authorities. The man is believed to be one of the top heroin dealers in Southern Maryland. He faces multiple drug charges, including possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Maryland mothers may be interested to learn that a New York mom has been accused of running a multi-million dollar marijuana business out of a warehouse. She faces several drug charges, including manufacturing and possessing marijuana with intent to distribute.

Maryland man awaits retrial verdict after felony murder case

A Maryland man will be waiting another week before he gets a verdict in a retrial of a murder case from 1975. The man was convicted for the alleged murder of an off-duty police officer during an attempt at armed robbery. He was found guilty of felony murder of a police officer by a jury in 1976 but has been seeking a retrial on the basis that the jury received improper instructions. He finally was granted a retrial in 2012.

Eight arrested following drug raid of Cambridge apartment

The Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force reportedly took eight people into custody in Cambridge on June 7 while executing a search and seizure warrant at an apartment. The search allegedly uncovered a loaded handgun, drug paraphernalia and sellable quantities of crack cocaine, cocaine and marijuana.

Sentencing delayed in Maryland home invasion case

Sentencing for a case of home invasion involving a 34-year-old Maryland man has been postponed due to claims that he was not aware he was due in court. He was also supposedly going to fire his criminal defense attorney. The man has been convicted of a home invasion that occurred in January 2012 and will be potentially facing life in prison and a sentence of up to 200 years. The man reportedly entered the home armed with a weapon and assaulted the maid. He reportedly left the scene in a car owned by one of the residents.

Maryland man accused of DUI after crashing into bus

A Stevensville man allegedly driving while intoxicated ran into an Ocean City municipal vehicle bus on June 2. According to Ocean City police, the man is accused of running a stop sign before colliding with a municipal bus. He is also accused of fleeing the scene after the accident.

Chesterfield resident facing heroin distribution charges

A 26-year-old resident of Chesterfield is facing charges of possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. The Kent County Narcotics Task Force conducted a search and seizure of the Maryland resident's home in coordination with the local police department and reportedly discovered five bags of what they believe to be heroin as well as drug paraphernalia. The man is being held at the Kent County Detention Center with bail set at $1 million.

Maryland man receives 22-year sentence on drug charges

A 37-year-old man the FBI once deemed one of the most dangerous people in Washington D.C. has been sentenced to 22 years in a federal penitentiary. U.S. Attorneys expressed their satisfaction that the defendant will no longer be free to traffic in narcotics in Maryland and the District.

Man sentenced on federal charges

On May 14, United States district judge for the District of Maryland sentenced a 48-year-old Maryland resident on child pornography charges. The man will serve six years of imprisonment followed by 10 years of parole. The judge also ordered that he register as a sex offender where he lives, works and goes to school following his release from prison, based on the federal Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
