JAMES PAPIRMEISTER: I've been practicing criminal law for over 22 years. Any good criminal defense attorney with a criminal defense practice is going to represent people who are innocent and people who are guilty. People who are guilty need excellent representation just as much as people who are innocent.
One of my strengths as a trial attorney is not only thorough preparation, getting to know the case and the client, but thinking outside of the box. A trial attorney needs to react to certain things that come up in the courtroom. A trial attorney needs to be creative. I am passionate about criminal defense because people that come into my office have very serious problems. These are problems that affect their freedom, that affect their family life that affect their careers, and sometimes even affect their ability to remain in the United States.
When a client comes to work with me on his or her case, I not only want to handle the case to the best of my ability and the resources of my law firm, but I want to develop a relationship with that client that lasts for life.
